Course aim

Overview

The Level 7 Diploma in Education Management and Leadership develops learners’ policy, management theory, and practise knowledge. It allows students to connect with professional and policymaker concerns in their own country. It will help you become an excellent education manager.   

It blends theoretical and practical education expertise to improve understanding and abilities in leading change, successful performance, and team leadership. Learners can work in education administration and/or management.

Equivalences

OTHM Level 7 diplomas on the RQF are master’s degrees. They are shorter (120 credits), and students must complete a dissertation (60 credits) to get a master’s degree.

Qualification structure

The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Education Management and Leadership has 120 credits, 1200 hours TQT, and 600 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).

Duration and delivery

The qualification is designed to be completed in one academic year for full-time study, however part-time and online learning are also options.

Assessment verification

All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. The qualifications are criterion referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.

To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. Judgement that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria is made by the Assessor.

The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the judgement of the learners’ overall achievement has been arrived at.

This lesson aims to help learners understand how educational leadership and management may support change in their local educational context.

Pedagogy and Practice in Education

This unit develops learners' theoretical and practical teaching and learning techniques related to subject pedagogic knowledge and practises.

Research Methods in Education

To strengthen learners' research skills, including comprehending different research methodologies, formulating research proposals, planning research activity, and assessing and interpreting results.

Effective Intercultural Communication and Perspectives

This course aims to teach students the relevance of intercultural dialogue and viewpoints in determining national and international educational policy.

Leading Reflective Practice in Education

This lesson aims to increase learners' awareness of reflective practise so they may apply it to their and others' educational roles, leading to personal development planning.

Contemporary Issues in Education: Theory, Policy and Practice

This section aims to help students comprehend the link between educational research and practise by examining educational philosophy, policy, and practise.
