Compare courses at TAR UMT, UM, UTM and USM, then plan your application route, full budget, recognition checks and arrival preparations.

Start with two or three subjects, then compare course content, entry requirements and the full cost. These four universities are starting points for research, not a ranking. Requirements differ between programmes.
TAR UMT: explore accounting, finance and software engineering. For accounting, check professional examination exemptions for your exact programme and intake; for computing, compare programming, projects and placements. Official course directory.
Universiti Malaya (UM): explore medicine, law and engineering through its faculties. Check prerequisites, language evidence, interviews and international admissions separately for each programme. Official faculties.
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM): explore electrical engineering, software engineering and data engineering. Check the campus and admissions category; Malaysian applicant requirements and fees must not be assumed to apply to international applicants. Official admissions.
Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM): students interested in chemistry, biology and medicines can explore the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours). Prospective pharmacists must also check registration requirements where they intend to work. Official pharmacy information.
These introductions do not mean OTC is an authorised representative of every university listed. We confirm whether and how we can assist before accepting an application service.
School-leaving qualifications: check direct degree entry first. If a foundation or diploma is needed, confirm progression conditions, total duration and total cost. A foundation is not automatically accepted by every university.
Diploma holders or students with university credits: prepare transcripts and course outlines for the receiving university to assess credit transfer. A possible pathway does not guarantee entry to a particular year.
Degree graduates: compare taught and research master’s programmes. Check subject background, grades, English and any proposal or supervisor requirements. There is no universal language waiver or guaranteed admission.
Applicant category: Malaysian and international applicants may have different portals, fees and places. UPUOnline is an application system; international applicants should follow the institution’s designated international admissions route.
Ask for fees applicable to your nationality, course, campus and intake. Comparing annual tuition alone can miss foundation study, additional modules or extended semesters.
University costs: application, registration, tuition, laboratory or equipment charges, examinations, resits and extensions.
Living costs: accommodation and deposits, utilities, internet, food, transport, flights and arrival essentials. Build a monthly budget for the actual city and accommodation, multiplied by the months you expect to live there.
Student Pass costs: check EMGS, institution and official schedules for processing, insurance, medical screening and other applicable items, including payment dates and refund terms.
Scholarships: check what is covered, renewal grades, availability and deadlines. Do not deduct an unconfirmed award from the budget.
1. Compare courses using your qualifications, grades, English, budget and intended intake.
2. Confirm eligibility and deadlines with the university. Prepare transcripts, graduation evidence, language results and any additional documents requested. Follow the recipient’s translation and certification instructions.
3. Submit and respond to document requests. Before accepting an offer, check its conditions, programme, campus, fees, deposit and refund terms.
4. After accepting an offer, follow the university and EMGS instructions for the Student Pass. Check entry visas, approvals and documents for your nationality and circumstances; do not assume tourist entry replaces study procedures.
5. Confirm official entry arrangements before finalising travel. Complete required medical screening, registration and Student Pass formalities after arrival. Admission, pass approval and entry are separate stages.

Use MQA/MQR to check the exact programme, awarding institution, qualification level and delivery location. MQR lists accredited programmes and accreditation is generally location-specific. If a course is not listed, also check provisional accreditation and ask the institution for clarification.
For medicine, pharmacy, engineering, law and accounting, check academic recognition and professional practice requirements separately. If you plan to return home or move elsewhere, check the relevant authorities in that destination too.
For joint programmes, credit transfers and overseas campuses, establish where teaching takes place, who awards the qualification, the delivery mode and travel requirements. A university name or partnership claim cannot replace programme-level checks.
As agreed, we help organise course comparisons, official requirements and sources, document checklists, preparation schedules, outstanding actions, and accommodation and arrival information after an offer. Applicants verify their own details and terms before submission or payment.
Initial contact establishes your needs. Where an application service is available without a service fee, this will be stated in writing. Other services require an agreed quote, inclusions, revision allowance, service period and cancellation/refund terms before work begins. We do not describe all applications as free.
Tuition, university application fees, Student Pass costs, medical screening, insurance, translation, certification, accommodation and transport are third-party costs to confirm separately. OTC does not guarantee admission, scholarships, pass approval or employment.
For document organisation, see our visa preparation support. Regulated legal or immigration case advice is handled separately by appropriately qualified professionals.
Can I apply without IELTS? Some programmes may accept other English evidence or conditional applications. Check both institutional and applicable Student Pass requirements; do not assume a waiver.
Can work cover all my tuition? Do not rely on income you have not secured as your main funding source. Work eligibility, permitted periods and restrictions need separate official checks.
Do I need to send a passport or bank documents now? No. Start with your qualifications, approximate grades, English level, subjects, budget and intake. If documents are needed later, we will establish their purpose and transfer method first.
